The United National Transport Union (UNTU) would like to congratulate the Hawks, the priority crime unit of the South African Police Service with their breakthrough in the war against copper theft by arresting four (4) Transnet employees.
Steve Harris, General-Secretary of UNTU, says the Union is disappointed to have learned that the four (4) suspects are Transnet employees.
The Transnet employees will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate Court tomorrow, the 26th February 2021 on charges relating to the theft of copper worth R1,9 million at Transnet Infrastructure Freight Rail Koedoespoort in Pretoria.
