Transnet informed Organised Labour represented in the Transnet Bargaining Council (TBC) at a Special SLF Meeting held virtually on 5 August 2021, that it intends offering voluntary severance packages (VSP’s) to its employees to reduce its overall wage bill.
Steve Harris, General Secretary of the United National Transport Union (UNTU), says the Union took note of the Employers proposals and raised questions of clarity on the process.
The consultation process will continue 10 August 2021.
UNTU will keep its members abreast of any developments.
