TRANSNET WAGE NEGOTIATIONS: “MANAGEMENTS REVISED FINAL OFFER”

TRANSNET WAGE NEGOTIATIONS: “MANAGEMENTS REVISED FINAL OFFER”

Our circular letter CL.WAGE.NEG. T.008.8/SC/ns, dated 2018-03-14 refers.

Labour being (UNTU and SATAWU), and Transnet Management met today, at the Transnet Bargaining Council (TBC) to further engage on Management’s “Revised Final Offer”.

Labour responded by informing Management of a “no mandate” to sign the offer as it stands, due to the recent budget speech delivered on 21 February 2018.

Taking cognisance of the 1% VAT increase, personal tax increase as well as the fuel increase by 52c per litre due to tax. Due to the above Labour requested Management to revise their offer under the circumstances.

After a lengthy caucus by Management, they informed Labour that due to their own internal mandating processes they are not able to obtain a revised mandate now.

They however indicated that they would supply Labour with a revised mandate by the close of business on 20 March 2018.

On receipt of the revised offer from management, Branch Officials and TUR’s will be requested to obtain revised mandates from their constituencies.
