The United National Transport Union (UNTU) is holding nationwide mass meetings with its members of the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) regarding the 2017 wage negotiations.
The negotiating team of UNTU has a mandate from its membership to demand double digit wage increases from 1 April, but the negotiating team of Prasa is not prepared to consider it. The UNTU team is currently obtaining a mandate from its members on the way forward.
Mass meetings have already been held in Pretoria, Johannesburg and Durban. Tomorrow and Thursday the team will address members in East London, Port Elizabeth and Cape Town.
