CCMA TO DECIDE ON PRASA DISPUTE ON 30 MARCH

The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) will hear the conciliation between the United National Transport Union (UNTU) and the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) on the wage dispute on 30 March 2017.

UNTU referred the wage dispute to the CCMA for conciliation today after members declined Prasa’s conditional 4,5% salary offer last week. UNTU members also demands increases in their medical aid allowance, night shift allowance, book off allowance and standby allowance.

If this dispute can’t be resolved and the CCMA issues a certificate of non-resolution, UNTU members across the country are prepared to embark on a protected legal strike.

Issued on behalf of UNTU by Sonja Carstens, Media and Liaison Officer. For UNTU Press Releases e-mail sonja@untu.co.za or phone 082 463 6806.
