ARRANGEMENT UNDER LEVEL 3 LOCK DOWN LEAVE ARRANGEMENT

ARRANGEMENT UNDER LEVEL 3 LOCK DOWN LEAVE ARRANGEMENT

PRASA agreed that “Special Leave” will be granted to all Junior Employees as from 1 June 2020.
Therefore, no employee will use his/her leave as from 1 June 2020, and no employee will have to
go to the workplace as Line Managers will complete Leave and Timecards on behalf of
employees.
No permits will be issued for the signing of leave or timecards.
Employees with comorbidities (pre-existing conditions)
PRASA recognises the following pre-existing conditions as high risk, in line with the Centres for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):
moderate to severe asthma.
▪ chronic lung disease
▪ serious heart conditions
▪ immunocompromised people
▪ severe obesity
▪ diabetes
▪ chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis; and
▪ liver disease.
These “high risk” employees are requested to submit medical proof of their pre-existing condition.
Once this proof is submitted, such employees will be placed on Special Leave without
accumulating any additional leave credits of all types.
Employees over 60 years, who cannot return to work due to their vulnerability to COVID-19, will
be placed on “Special Leave”.
All employees who can demonstrate that they contracted COVID-19 in the course of their
employment, will be regarded as having sustained an Injury On Duty (IOD).
Keep safe and help us keep you safe
