UNTU OFFICES REMAIN CLOSE, BUT MEMBERS WILL BE ASSISTED

The United National Transport Union (UNTU) will continue to adhere to the guidelines given by President Cyril Ramaphosa and will keep our offices closed until 15 June 2020 to enable the Union  to follow the needed steps as an Employer under the Level 3 Regulations to open to the public.

To date no services or payments to our members have been affected by the fact that our Head Office in Johannesburg and regional offices in Durban and Cape Town have been closed since the start of the lockdown on 26 March 2020.

Hendrik Fourie, President of UNTU, says the Union wish to assure members that they will continue to be assisted 24/7 by the Leadership of the UNTU Executive Council, Secretariat, full-time trade union representatives and Organisers if their respective newly elected trade union representatives and Branch leadership are unable to resolve their concerns.

Fourie emphasises that it is important for members to follow protocol and to start with their TUR’s when raising issues to allow our newly elected or re-elected leadership to establish their relationships with management and to grow as leaders.

UNTU will keep its members updated on any developments.

“Together we are strong, and we can beat this deadly disease.  Thank you all for your collective participation. GOD SPEED,” says Fourie.

Yours faithfully,

Hendrik Fourie

UNTU PRESIDENT
