Eleven (11) caravan campers of Sunny Friends visited UNTU Palms on Friday, the 4th September 2020 when the Jewel of the South Coast reopened after months in lockdown due to the Covid-19 global pandemic.
UNTU Palms opened its doors with a colourful Spring Carnival bang and our friendly staff was trained to adhere to all the Covid-19 regulations to ensure the safety of everyone at our beautiful family seashore holiday resort.
It was great to see some familiar guests and to meet several new visitors who will certainly become familiar faces after their first UNTU Palms stay.
According to Davis, there was a “lot of paperwork” but they understood that it had to be done and were extremely impressed with the well-organized way the management and reception of UNTU Palms conducted the formalities.
“It was our first camping experience in quite a while, and we enjoyed every minute of it. The park is in good condition. We loved the fact that we had our own ambition facilities. The experience was great. We had an excellent stay,” says Davis.
Kobus van Aswegen, maintenance manager at UNTU Palms, and his team spent the lockdown to finalize the renovations of the resort which started 18 months ago.
Nicolé van Aswegen, resort manager, says all the hard work paid off. “All the guests complimented us on the upgrades of the resort and says it looks like a new resort. It is always great to improve on the expectations of our guests and we are grateful for the positive feedback,” she says.
The bookings are piling up, especially for weekends so make your booking now to avoid disappointment. UNTU Palms has ample space available during the midweek in our chalets, cabanas, caravan, and camping sites which can each accommodate four (4) people in compliance with the Covid-19 regulations.
Please take note that the resort also accommodates Backpackers by renting out four (4) sleeper tents with extensions that can be hired. The staff will set up your tent on any of our 50 stands. UNTU Palms will provide a tent and two single beds. Bring your stretcher or sleeping bags along if you want four (4) people to share the tent.
