All Prasa Employees belonging to the PRASA-Transnet Retirement Fund (TRF) and the Transport Pension Fund, please take note of the below.
It is confirmed by Momentum on 1 March 2022 that Prasa did pay outstanding monies to the Relevant Funds. PRASA made a short payment on the January 2022 contributions and the Administrator made the necessary follow up with the Employer. The Employer paid the shortfall at the end of last week and the reconciliation was finalized today. As a result, the January 2022 contribution allocations will reflect within 24hours after the daily batch-run tomorrow morning. A Late Payment Interest letter will be issued to the Employer for the delayed January 2022 contribution owing to the shortfall. The Administrator is currently receiving and reconciling the February 2022 contributions (payments due on the 7th and schedules on or before 15th March 2022). Consequently the Administrator can confirm that, except for Autopax, contributions for all the PRASA entities are up to date for both TRF and TPF.
This is however very worrying, as UNTU had a difficult battle with Prasa to get the proof of payment. We are very delighted to have the proof of payment, but we are extremely concerned after the meeting with the AGCEO last week, who stated that he cannot confirm that it won’t happen again.
We will keep on fighting for the Members rights and make sure that your Retirement monies are paid over in time, to have all Members protected and monies safe.
Although this is a relief, UNTU urges all Members to be alert and keep UNTU HO informed if any deviation in the Contribution appears again, so that we may address it with Senior Management.
