The UNTU Covid-19 Task Team is currently awaiting President Cyril Ramaphosa’s address to the nation where after a virtual follow-up meeting will be scheduled to discuss the way forward.
The decision taken by the Covid-19 Task Team was mainly based on the recent public statement by the Minister of Health, Zweli Mkhize “ South Africa enters Covid-19 second wave and records 844 more deaths and 21 832 new cases in ‘grim milestone’.
Sadly, some of our members have recently succumbed to the corona-virus. Unfortunately, this virus now hits closer to home as more and more numbers are now becoming names of persons that we are familiar with i.e., members, colleges, families, and friends.
We once again appeal to all our members to be vigilant, wear a mask, social distance, and exercise excellent hygiene as part of your daily life.
Be rest assured that this Union is always available to continue serving its members.
STAY SAFE AND GOD’S SPEED
Esteemed greetings,
SA Harris
