Esteem greetings Comrades, in pursuant to the Lockdown directive issued by the President of the Republic of South Africa regarding gatherings, the following were agreed upon:-
The unprecedented spread of COVID-19 has a wide-reaching impact on everyone, then to comply with the precautionary measures aimed at cushioning, mitigating, and combating the spread of the CORONA Virus, it was decided that the:
– National Employment Equity Forum, Skills Development and HR Bi-Lateral which was scheduled for the 21 April 2020 and – National Business Committee scheduled for the 22 April 2020 be deferred to a date to be determined.
Other than the deferment of the said structural meetings, that does not stop all engagement with Management, we will continue to ensure that members get the service they require.
Members are encouraged to keep informing TURs and FTURs where there are issues of concern and that will be addressed with relevant Line Managers.
We will be at your service to ensure that the employer comply with relevant legislations and agreement during this trying time, for example, the unilateral changes to Shift Pattern at Richards Bay Port in the Marine Services.
The matter was addressed, and Management apologized for failing to consult, and the issue is cascaded down to the Port to deal with the other issue that is related to Marine Employees and all will be kept updated with what is happening thereof.
For all non-compliance with the Lockdown Regulations and other matters experienced at TNPA, please contact any of the following:-
