After President Ramaphosa’s broadcast, we believe that all of us realized how serious this COVID-19 pandemic truly is.
This being the first time in our democratic history, that a total “shutdown” has been called, we are still not really certain of what is happening.
UNTU has been inundated with questions that we do not have answers to, given the severity of this situation.
A telecon has been scheduled between Transnet Management and Labour for Wednesday, 25 March 2020 at 13H00 in order to have a better understanding of what Management have implemented.
We urge all our members to please be patient at this point in time as we will provide feedback, after our engagement with Transnet Management.
We have been informed that salaries will be paid on 25 March 2020.
Once, more information has been obtained with regards to the nationwide “shutdown” on Transnet, we will provide more feedback
